Becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) requires that you attain certification or licensure granted by a state or provisional licensing board. The vast majority of states require that you have a minimum of a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree before you can attain certification or licensure as a LCSW.
